Backing tracks

Hopefully I put this on the right forum......

Anyway, I was wanting to get some backing tracks or software to practice with. I think it would help with my improv skills, and I am too broke to buy anything to do loops. Anything I could put on my ipod would work best

you can download powertab for free. It's just a way of playing out tabs. Tabs are .ptb files... download em, and powertab plays em for you. There's all sorts of practice tabs on the net. I personally use guitar pro 5, but I believe you have to pay for it. There's always pirating... har har har!! Anyways, that's what I use for backing to practice to.

powertab is nice, but if you want to be more serious, Guitar Pro is definetly the way to go, as it allows you to use drum tracks, and it can import most powertab files. http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php It's $50, but you can always get it off bittorrent for free.

I just listen to my favorite cd's, ignore the guitars and jam to the drums. If you cant ignore the guitars pick out something to play lead over. Thats how I do it. Find another guitarist...
