haha That was great! Nothin' says lovin' like marryin' yer cousin!
My parents were married for about 45 years before my dad died. My grandparents on one side that I grew up close to were married for 52 years. Then my grandma remarried a family friend and he died about 8 years later. I was adopted as a 3 day old so I think that makes a difference than someone older that might have been. I don't remember anyone fighting at either house unless I was in the middle of it being a hateful teenager.
Current hubby and I were married for 11 years and then divorced, got back together after his divorce and we;ve been together about 7 years. We just celebrated our second anniversary. It would be about 27 if we hadn't this December. I had a b/f after we split up, but I didn't date anyone.

I think your poll questions are bullshit because you don't take into account de facto/common law marriages. Some people just don't see the point in tying the knot legally because it costs a lot of money (and some, like me, have moral objections).
My parents have been married for nearly 20 years. They got married a year after they met, and I was already in the oven for 5 months (a wanted child mum pressured out of dad). They're somewhat happy I think, they have their clashes though. Dad held mum back a lot, and I think mum would have done a lot more academically, career-wise and travel-wise if not for me being born and dad's desire to keep her at home.

My parents are divorced. Didn't bother me, but my dad keeps acting like I've been traumatized and is trying to bond with me.
I really hate, though, when I get in the middle of their little pussy problems.

It sounds like dad's the one who was traumatized and has a bit of guilt there. Unless he's just trying to blame your mom for something and playing it up. He might just be overly concerned though. I know how that goes.

I was going to mention that, but that didn't have to do with the initial question..
We're not talking about Oprah and Stedman.

hmm.. I kinda hate when people ask if your parents are married, and if they don't, they must be divorced or something..
well, that mostly happends here. you may think holland is such a progresive country, but it's realy conservative with family values and all..
me, my parents broke up even before they knew my mother was pregnant.. so..

I know what it is. It's that blonde bimbo he goes out with now. She's a nice lady and all, but.... ok. she's like Marie from "Everybody Loves Raymond." Always picky, always prodding to get answer that aren't there. My dad was never this sensitive, obsessive, PUSSY until he moved in with this woman. I don't mind him going out with someone besides my mom (kinda the reason they got divorced, fi ya catch my drift) but dude, a woman has a head above that rack, a head that practically begs to be ripped off because it won't shut up sometimes.
..... maybe I do have some unresolved anger issues.

My Grandma says that my Mom was an astronaut and that my Dad is in jail for "shooting the moon" (I guess while she was on, and still is.) in public.

you dont even really need a pancreas anymore, youre just more evolved than the rest of us.
studies show that the human body, over the past years, has been slowly getting rid of the pancreas.

Whoa, cool. Your mom was on the moon, and your dad had the power to destroy a moon. your parents sound cool
Sounds like a metaphor for something else. But it's none of my business, so I'll shut up for now.
