I think alot of grindcore bands these days can't really be considered grind, compared to what grind was and stood for in its first forms, and the way most grind bands these days incorporate technical riffing. And theres like no punk influence at all anymore.

Agree 150%. That's why I like bands like Kill The Client and Jigsore Terror because it's old school and it's what grind is.

Yeah I listen to those bands as well. Old school stuff like Repulsion, Terrorizer and what not. I was just listing present day bands who use the old school sound.

I still love and listen to all the old school shit; Terrorizer, Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, SoS-era Carcass, Malicious Hate (old grindcore band my dad used to be in), Repulsion, etc.

Old school is the best. Grind these days is either just polluted with the overuse of drum machines or is bassically Death Metal but with shorter songs. But yeah bands like Machetazo, Jigsore Terror, Kill The Client, Whore, Haemorrhage and Nasum all follow the old school bands and that's why they are my favourite.

I don't even listen to them any more. There are so many heavier Mexican bands nowadays.
i.e. Disgorge, Paracoci...., Oxidised Razor.
You should check out the Mexican Gore Mafia comp. It's pretty damn decent. |
