well i'm only 16 but have been listening to metal for aorund 7 years now. my first metal band was Metallica, i got into them at boy scout camp. went home and got Load, black album and kill em all. the other metal bands that i got into when i was like 12 were black sabbath and white zombie, and slayer too. now since i've had the interent for about 2 years, it has really helped me get into a lot of other bands.

I grew up with much German New Wave, because of my older brother and sister.

First metal-band i remember was Metallica, but they didn´t influenced me.

When i first got into music, i listened to stuff like Silverchair, I Mother Earth, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine.....that kind of shit.

Then i heard Metallica, and wanted heavier stuff. Since then i've been a metalhead.

i grew up with rage and soundgarden too. But also dead kennedys which i still love, dark tranquillity and opeth where the first metal bands i liked, even tho it was like leaping into fire, i never got into regular metal for awhile.

I guess I grew up to stuff like Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, Bluesbreakers, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Cream, Blind Faith, Steppenwolf, Deep Purple, Santana, and, to some extent, Soulfly and Deftones. Right after that I got into much of what I'm in now, but since I'm in that now, I didnt really grow up with it, did I? Unless I'm not grown up enough yet, and this is what I'm growing up to, in which case, y'all should have at least a vague idea of what I like.
