Meh, also the drummer of Vornagar. There's a video of the drumrecording for Hyperion on their myspace if you scroll down ( http://www.myspace.com/vornagar), for those of you who haven't seen it yet. Don't forget to stop the regular player though. Great drummer, great kit, great song too.

Nick Barker is the drummer for Old Man's Child, and he's also done drums for Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir.
Dunno the other ones.

Well, honestly, you can't because drumming involves a variety of different styles, and it is impossible to label one drummer as the best. "The best drummer" is really an expression for who do you like the best.

I think it goes without saying that in order to have a good technical/brutal death metal band, you have to have a great drummer. So all those deathheads behind the kit, while very highly skilled, seem kinda interchangeable to me. Nile for example, did their style really change THAT much after Laureano left and Kollias stepped in?

Richard Christy was in Death, Control Denied and Iced Earth.
Sean Reinert was in Death's album Human and Cynic. Think he teaches Jazz drumming at Florida university or something but he is awesome at brutal metal with a jazzy touch as well.
Gene Hoglan was in Dark Angel, Death, Strapping Young Lad.
Get these albums-
Death: Human, The Sound of Perservernce, Symbolic, Individual Thought Patterns
Cynic: Focus
Dimmu Borgir: Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia

Judas priest (Painkiller, on) - Yes Scott Travis is my favorite. Not only does he know everything, but he can do stuff most people cant. Of course he can't rifle through shit like some bass drummers today, but what he makes, fits perfectly.

I think for pure talent that Brann Dailor from Mastodon is one of the best metal drummers these days

There is no best.
Absolute favorite metal drummer of mine is Derek Roddy. That guy is amazing.

Patrice Hamelin from Martyr
Most of the jazz drummers are the best, better than brutal death metal...my opinion
