Yeah... Well fuck cd's AND vinyl! I only listen to casettes. Who needs the crisp sound quality, ability to rip songs and the compact nature of cd's or the larger amount of space for artwork or the novelty of records, I'm too cool for them. Granted that vinyl has the obvious advantages over cd's, like being able to irreversibly damage records by stepping too hard on the ground and skipping the needle or the awesome sound quality that includes generous amounts of crackles and scratches, plus it being almost impossible to find a record player outside your home or a rave party. BUT casettes are only for TRVE music enthusiasts. Telephone quality and the likeliness of everything getting entangled in tape is the only true way... Any other way is just retarted

Pssh vinyl is TRUE metal. CD = not metal. Not to mention vinyl is generally cheaper, and will be worth more in the long run that any CD you buy. Not to mention the sound is better. If you want portable music, you can burn a CD or copy your vinyl to cassette. And its also not that complicated to rip vinyl onto a computer. Plus some bands ONLY release vinyl. Almost all bands that put out a CD still do vinyl. Vinyl has not been replaced whatsoever by CD's or cassettes. Theres just less demand for it because people care less about quality and more about portability.

I'd be fucked if I had to try to find everything I own or would like to own on vinyl.

your outlook on cds is INSANE, and sounds extremely inconvenient. im sure id have a real hell of a time finding vinyls for my favorite band's three albums.

I'm actually finding all these replies very humorous. CD's better than vinyl? Thats a serious laugh. Its not about being up to date with technology, or how convenient it is. Its about music quality. Not to mention 200 records can be worth tons more than a thousand CD's, and still sound better. And saying vinyl has been replaced by CD's is just ignorant. Sure alot of stuff you may want on vinyl isn't in print anymore, but alot of it still is, and alot of stuff comes back into print decades after its been out of print. I'm not sayin' don't buy the CD if you can't get the vinyl. I'm just sayin' vinyl is definitely the better choice if you have the option, which usually you do, and usually it is the cheaper choice. Except for those fancy ass metal records. Metal bands love puttin' out fancy fuckin' vinyl that costs like 15 dollars or more.

I just recently got Brutal Truth - Sounds Of The Animal Kingdom and Trend Kill Suicide. I'm really quite impressed and I'm not sure why I didn't get into them earlier
