3rd period i have jazz improv class, it's pretty sweet, for 40 minutes i get to play my bass, we go over modes and scales, and we're playin this sweet ass jazz piece from Wynton Marsalis, it's a class that makes waking up for school somethin i wanna do.

what the hell? my school must suck, the only instrument i ever learned in school was the gay ass recorder.

is the recorder a real instrument that people master or just like a beginners wind instrument?

Well my music teacher rocks, She assigns us pieces and we gotta learn em, But she gives us shit we'd like, Like i end up with Pantera, Slayer or RATm, tohers end up with Shit they like, its a good system.

u are lucky that there is a guitar class at youre school....there is a band class here (like at most schools) and i just bring my guitar in to play at school during lunch in the band room...or i go to burger king..

We have a half decent system, alls good cept people keep knockin our gear off, and our teachers are pains in the arse sometimes. We have the full kit and kaboodle (guitars, bass, drums, recording gear, all kinds of weirdarse instruments, etc) so its pretty good.

all we have for guitar is jazz band, and i'm not too fond of jazz. theres also a guitar class, but that takes up my timetable. and they have cheap guitars.

In my school they were so f*ckin' conservative!
The only instrument we could play was the flute.
My music teacher was a real bitch, when you asked her to listen and discuss some real music (metal, rock...) she nearly got a haert attack.
They considered all kinds of metal as being evil!

off days where me and a couple of dudes bring our guitars and amps

im going to a waldorf school, ifyou know what im mean.
we have alot of theatre here and i played in the orchestra for two plays, but im a pretty silent guy so our music teacher didnt ask me another time to play in the orchestra. but i think id kick everyones ass if it comes to guitarplayin ( here at school ). please excuse my fuckin english

beh at my college the music stuff isnt too bad but its 'music-studying-guys'-only
and im in programming, so i cant go in the practice room etc...so i just bring my guitar and play by a tree or something:P

I go to a pretty laid back alternitive type school. Me and a few metalhead friends just bring our shit and jam whenever we want, 2-3 hours a day 2-3 times a week. Its pretty sweet. One day our music teacher made us perform in an assembly type thing. We played "Battles in the North", corpse paint and all. I think half the school shitted their pants when they saw us like that....lolol..

When I was in high school, we just had band, orchestra and choir. I initally started with the saxophone in the 5th grade. As time went on, I grew bored with it and taught myself drums, flute, clarinet, and eventually guitar. Now, it's mostly guitar and I play that in what little spare time I have.
