to my understanding, raw black metal fans love it to sound bad. not that these guys sounded raw, other than the guitar tone.
EDIT, haha, im listening to bad guitars right now. nokturnal mortum-goat horns. but with keyboards like these on here, i dont care about the guitar at all. the band above, didnt have very good keyboard. if they did, i still wouldnt like the vocals or drums. though im not usually picky about drums, its just another negative portion here.

Yeah, it was once, and in some occasions still is a trend to have terrible production and shitty music to be a "true" black metal band. Haha, I'd have to thank Mayhem for that with the Pure Fucking Armageddon demo. It's so bad, I laugh |

Yes, they were like 15 when they recorded it, but they very well to this day brag about how bad the production is in a laughing/comical way. But a few people I could mention (but won't) took this really seriously and only considered bad production to be "true black metal". Hehe, but the funny thing is, half of those people who made up rules weren't even in black metal bands. |

My friend told me about that Pure Fucking Armageddon demo. I have yet to check it out. Satanic Warmaster has some horrendous fucking production, too.
