not big on solos but always loved what slayer was doing late 80-early 90s. i dont think they are actually in key or anything, just a mindless shred of notes.

It's technically not structured well or skillful, but The Storm Still Rages Inside by Orphaned Land has a fucking cool solo.

No. But When I went and saw Zeke, they played the whole song and the solo twice as fast.

Saying that there's a 'better pulled-off solo' out there doesn't mean it's a better one, it just means that you're more impressed by it. But an impressive solo for its own sake is just so much masturbation.

But that is SOMETIMES, and like i said, many of these belong here. And im not talking about songs that dont put talent in the right context, im talking about songs that werent on the list, that should be, due to the fact that its better. An impressive solo to me, and a well pulled off solo on its own is impressive for a reason as well.

NONE OF THE CELTIC FROST SOLOS!!!!!!

Here's a few quickies.....

Metallica - Dyers Eve
Diamond Head - Am I Evil
Iron Maiden - Transylvania
All the Peace Sells album
Early Morbid Angel(like Slayer but in tune and mixed properly )
Scorpions - Sails of Charon
Ozzy - Revelation Mother Earth
Carcass - Heartwork
Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I laugh Tomorrow
Thin Lizzy - Black Rose
Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death

I'll have to think of some more........

I'm gonna have to chuck in some Angus, maybe Let There Be Rock, Kicked in the Teeth or Whole Lotta Rosie

That is a test of a great lead and a great lead player, for me, and one to which not many lead players can actually measure up.

i love animals...

Lamb of God- Ashes of the Wake
Dream Theater- Honor Thy Father ( the solo at the end of the song)
Metallica- Am I Evil?
