I think it really depends on what is shrinking or expanding here ....
If the neck shrinks, wouldn't that be like relieving tension on the strings, thus making it flat?
And same for expansion -> more tension-> sharper notes.
Also being Canadian, I once had the unique experience of playing in a heated tent in the dead of winter (February) at something we have here called the "Festival du Voyageur". The problem with a heated tent is that you have these huge heater fans blowing in hot air but cold creeping in from the walls and the doors of the tent so the air is in constant flux. After about two songs of playing you'd be a good quarter step out of tune .... and not in unison with the rest of the detuned guitars ....

I say do away with it. You can always stand in its former location if you need to make use of the perspective it gave you, but will benefit from the ability to situate yourself in different loci with ease.
