Now that the ancient thread's back, fuck it, I'll add my two shits
Vocalist #1: Billy Milano - S.O.D./M.O.D.
Vocalist #2: David Vincent - Morbid Angel
Guitar #1: Brad Hull - Forced Entry
Guitar #2: Chuck Shuldiner - Death
Bass: Les Claypool
Drums: Louie Clement - Testament
EDIT: What they would do is switch back and forth between hardcore/thrash and death metal. The two singers would get up in each other's face and throw insults back and forth on stage. It would be like one of those rapper battles.

Good, that's what this music should do. It's weightlifting music.

Why the hell is shit always given for resurrecting old threads, and also for starting new threads when the use of the 'search' button would show there was an existing thread on the subject? You can only have it one way, and since the classic documentary Posting and You (available for viewing in the Chit Chat Forum Rules sticky, go watch if you haven't, and learn) teaches us that 'It is always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one,' the Resurrection was the appropriate choice.

vocals - screaming: varg vikernes (burzum)
vocals - growling: tony forde (blood duster, the kill) on the grounds that he would make a massively entertaining show
guitars: tim aldrige (abramelin)
guitars: muhammed suicmez (necrophagist)
bass: alex webster (cannibal corpse), who else?
drums: toss up between vitek (decapitated), and max kolesne (krisiun).
should keyboards be required at anytime, martin foul (cradle of filth) would handle those.

Lots of thought has gone into this.
Vocals / guitars - Jason Mendonca (Salem Orchid, Akercocke)
Lead guitars - Muhammed Suicmez (Necrophagist)
Bass - Jon Vesano (Nile)
Drums - Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy)
Alternatively...
Vocals / Bass - Lemmy Kilminster (Motorhead)
Lead Guitar - Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
Drums - Neil Peart (Rush)
That would be a kind of progressive old heavy metal band.

guitar/vocals - Nergal (Behemoth)
guitar/vocals - Sakis (Rotting Christ)
bass/vocals - Vortex (Dimmu Borgir)
drums - Hellhammer (Mayhem)

I think this is a alsome thread idea. So many guitarist to choose from. I don't know to many bassist or drums. I'm not going to say it's the ultimate band so many awesome musicians.
vocal-James hetfield pre-black
lead guitar/rhythm/backup vocals-Dimebag darrel
lead guitar/rhythm/backup vocals-Dave mustaine post being a drunk ass
bass-Dave Ellefson
drums-Nick Menza
I guess this is megadeth in it's ultimate form.

This would be a progressive metal band-
Vox- Flavor Flav
Rhythm Guitar- Kurt Cobain
Lead- Eddie Van Halen
Bass- Geddy Lee
Drums- The Guy from Def Leppard
Hopefully my dream band makes as much sense as all of yours.
