Mr. Filth is not one of our smarter members.
No reason to freak out about this. Either he's
a) somewhat deranged, in which case you shouldn't be more bothered by him than by the bums who drop trou on a crowded subway (actually much less, I should think);
or
b) completely in earnest, but nevertheless wrong, in which case you can laugh it off;
or
c) you're actually the reincarnated spirit of some soldier who fought in Vietnam, in which case it should be a priority to be forgiven for the misdeeds 'you' committed there, which, if you didn't notice, you've already done.
In any case I wouldn't sweat this shit. And the claim that somebody in your life is going to do harm to you is like claiming that it's going to be snowy on the Brooks Range in Alaska, and sunnier in Southern California. Just think, the next time something happens to you that upsets or hurts you in some way, that it was the spirit of the reincarnated soldier who killed 'you' and get on with your life.
Though, to be perfectly honest, enemies in one life being reincarnated into another and remaining enemies seems more like a work of fiction than any functional religious reincarnation belief I know of. Borges and tigers and Dead Again - oh my!

I love it. You get a lecture on your crazy, hostile old soul... and gardening tips. This man was/is/will come back as a complete fruitcake.
Anything else you left out? He didn't happen to lend you a pair of pink legwarmers as well, did he?

A monk once asked Chuck Norris if his real name is "Charles". Chuck Norris did not respond, he simply stared at him until he exploded.
Hey, if you wanna talk about bonsai, pm me. They're cool as heck. I'm a gardener.

Yeah. I hate those damn Nazis who fought in Vietnam. Those goddamn Nazis, always oppressing the Buddhists.
The only danger you're in when confronted by a Buddhist monk who was apparently involved in Vietnam is that his self-immolation might spread.
Side note: this would have made you a North Vietnamese soldier, right? Seems likeliest to me, but he may have specified.

Maybe the monk is still there and he can go back and ask him.

So I would figure he implied that,he didnt specify it,though.Though,he did say napalm,and I didnt think the commo's had access to it.

What I think of it:
coincidence and the effects of religion on people.
EDIT: Hmm did he by any chance ask for money?

Just out of curiosity, but what made you think he was a monk? His garments?

I wasn't saying that based on what you just said but rather on every other post you've contributed to the forum. Though I suppose the weakness and pointlessness of the joke also got to me. Nothing is automatically forgiven because 'Oh ho ho, I was joking.'
The VC didn't really have napalm (though I wouldn't be surprised if they got some off of the various planes they downed), so it does seem more likely that you were a GI. But the GIs aren't nearly as likely to have targeted Buddhists as the soldiers of any Communist country whatsoever. Which means you probably hurt him inadvertently. I mean, pretending that you did any of this at all.
