My school is like that too. You can't have it past your eyebrows, earlobes or collar line. Since school is out i'm trying to grow my hair. It's just below my eyes in the front, and almost to the bottom of my neck in the back.

I went to a public school, one of the lowest rated ones in our city too. HAD to wear uniform, No piercings, and HAD to be cleanly shaven. Usually you could slip with shoes if they were black. I got hell for my fucking piercings though.
But me and my friend were in a constant arguement, its thoughtless anti-freedom shit. Piercings dont hurt anyone, stop anyone from working, nor do fucking shoes or facial hair. Its all about the schools 'image', i believe really they can enforce what they want. Its just unlucky if you get a fucking retard whos still living in the 1940's schooling system.
Its like smoking, we werent allowed to smoke fullstop in uniform, in or out of school. I mean what the fuck, like 3/5 people smoke, i really doubt the public is going to be offended. Thats what all the rules were about, i mean piercings and facial hair, are just as common as not now days.
The worst thing is, is that if you break any of these totally retarded and pointless rules, they give you dentention, i got threatened with being expelled. They will go to lengths to stop you learning, take you outta class for little rants - to save the schools 'image'. Good to see the priorities working here.

I work graveyard at IKEA, doing inventory,stock and drive a forklift here and there. IKEA is very relaxed with their hair/tattoos/piercings/whatever dress codes.
