Head for hardcore
Whats a good cheap amp for hardcore I have about 300-400 dollars to spend.. What are some good suggestions? I have been looking at the Crate Blue Voodoo and the Vox AD100VTH. Is the vox good for hardcore? Ive also been looking at the Peavey XXL. Thanks for the replies

The Peavey 5150 is probably on most of the albums you like.

It'll probably work. You might want to look into Sovtek or old Laney AOR Pro Tube amps.

the crate can do it... but the 5150' & 6505's(exact same amp different name) is the amp of choice for most hardcore bands and they go for only $500-600 used.

get a tube amp (marshall jcm 800/900/2000, framus cobra, crate BV, peavey 5150/6505)... put the gain to about 11 or 1 oclock (depending on amp and volume). If its an orange, fender or vox... put a maxon od-808 infront of it. Tubes are essential!

i have a bv 60 watt 2x12 combo. i think something might be wrong with mine, but still with mids dimed and treble a little less than half and gain maxed (yes maxxed thats why i think its broke) i sound just like underminded. no lie

They sound more raw to me,florida death tone,yes.Didnt find any modern hardcore tones on it really.5150's are the standard in that shit.

One of the guys in My Chemical Romance uses the crate bv 300... if thats what you mean by hardcore... probably uses one of the low gain channels... with the gain knob set pretty low..

i dont get why someone would do that. heck ive seen a bunch of shitty puss bands using uberschalls. WHY? get a matchless or trainwreck or some other expensive not super high gain amp for that.
