I may be wrong, but here's what I took it as. Possibly about age and the decay of creativity and freshness of the mind, since with time it only feeds off of others more and more and eventually becomes a shadow of what it was majorly influenced by, falsely regarded as progression but really just the numbing of all our identities into the fabricated and subconsciously dead society that most people never come to notice or accept?
