Offsite - massive scales and arpeggio's database.

A guy on Musicianforums.com posted a massive database of scales and arpeggios. It's remarkably user-friendly, using drop-down menu's and whatnot.

here is the link:
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/...ad.php?t=459368

I give full credit to the guy, you guys better as well. In his post he claims to have 'every single scale/arpeggio in existence. I won't argue against it! I admit it may be a tad hard for a complete beginner to understand. But such a format is just so easy. Wow. I think it is much better than many if not all scales / arpeggio websites.

NOTE: You need Excel to view it. I dunno how the fuck he encoded all of it in Excel, it wouldve taken him many, many, many, hours.

I do not claim any possesion this database, Im just doing some free advertising

well you see on the left side it has a list of scales. Choose a scale you want. Underneath the fretboard there is an orange square with a note in it. Click on the main part of the box and enter the root / key you want your scale to be.

Then you get a bit of entry on the fretboard. If this is still complex, click the yellow box above the window to choose scale. write 'No' instead of yes, to not display notes.

I find it easier to display the notes, as you have R (Root note, treat it as '1')... then you get 2, b3 etc.. to 7 to indicate a scale.

meh... dont feel like explaining more. Hell it aint rocket science!

Aaaaand by that you wish to say...?

Allright, I haven't studied formal theory further than memorizing the "normal" majors and minors, so bear with me. Is the numbers on the Scales page notes or frets?

They are the scale degrees. The intervals between the root note and each other note of the scale.

True there are more.

So the debate has shifted to whether or not you need more.

So whos up for compositing some technical death in the B Theta Kaylam scale?

It's all you'll ever need, really.
