Well I don't like gimmicky Satanic lyrics, nor the gore shit anymore either. It just gets old and has no real meaning to me. Sure Cannibal Corpse are great at what they do but I couldn't give a flying fuck about the lyrics. The only gore-themed band I still probably pay attention to is Avulsed(mainly 2 of their albums) because the lyrics are gory but always humorous.

If you wanna hear some kickin new stuph check out Nile, Annihilation of the Wicked. Of course you're gonna have to school yourself on some old school Carcass, Napalm Death, Obituary and Sepultura.

Can you even make out the lyrics of the majority of DM? I could care less about what their actually grunting about. I'm in it for the guitar and drums. Also be careful when bashing satanic metal here, cause satan and his angels are members of this forum.

Theres a cool dvd I have featuring early grindcore bands from Earache like Napalm Death and Carcass! Carcass was very influential on the whole scene; Necrotiscism is a great album.
