Lol, Vader play Mesa Recto's and cabs, with just an EMG81.  I'm a huge fan btw, can play like 20 of their fuckin songs(fun simple shit).
Anyway, I wonder if this sounds different than the other ENGL's? I wish I could get to try some ENGL amp in a store, I've yet to find a store that carries any in the US so I can try out.
I'm wondering... does Derek from RSA have a return policy? Cause if I can't try them in stores I might just buy one from him some day and return it if I don't like it, otherwise I don't think I'll buy an ENGL til I'm sure I like them(e530 is tempting).

i like the look (blue glowy tubes give me a hardon) and i know engl's kick ass... but im afraid of the nu-metal comment in the pamphlet which was on rocksolidamps, but the pamphlet dissapeared... have to hear it/play it to really know. its probably nothing. but still... they said it... =/

I think most leaflets/promo on an amp will try and name-check as many different styles as possible inorder to broaden interest. If it ended up getting a name for being a 'death metal amp' then Engl would find the number of sales pretty limited, and a lot of players wouldn't even give it a look.
It probably is good for nu metal, but I wouldn't mind betting it's pretty damn versatile with 4 channels/EQs.

They have leds in the amp to make it look like tube glow. So does every other amp that brags with "OMG LOLZ TUBEGLOW LOOK AT IT!!!" like say Framus.
