*bump
got some news off Morbid Angel.com concerning the re-release of Altars and Blessed:
Earache To Re-release Morbid Angel Classics
On November 11th, 2002, Earache will be re-releasing Morbid Angel's first and second albums - "Altars Of Madness" which have been voted as one of the influential Metal albums of the 90’s in magazines such as Kerrang!, Terrorizer, Rock Hard and Close Up, and "Blessed Are The Sick" which has been hailed as the fan's favorite Morbid Angel album. Each release has a limited edition slipcase, with both albums having been completely re-mastered with brand new artwork [interior art and photos I believe -Ed]. Both booklets have extensive liner notes from guitarist and founder Trey Azagthoth and include clippings and photos from the band's personal archive. With each of the albums there will be a bonus CD-ROM containing the rarely-seen videos for "Immortal Rites" and "Blessed Are The Sick". No word on whether this will be a UK only release for the time being or both UK and North America.
"Altars Of Madness" contents:
1) Immortal Rites*
2) Suffocation
3) Visions from the Dark Side
4) Maze of Torment
5) Lord of All Fevers and Plague
6) Chapel of Ghouls
7) Bleed for the Devil
8) Damnation
9) Blasphemy
10) Evil Spells
11) Maze of Torment (remix)
12) Chapel of Ghouls (remix)
13) Blasphemy (remix)
* Bonus video CD-Rom video ‘Immortal Rites’
"Blessed Are The Sick" contents:
1) Intro
2) Fall From Grace
3) Brainstorm
4) Rebel Lands
5) Doomsday Celebration
6) Day of Suffering
7) Blessed Are the Sick*/Leading the Rats
8) Thy Kingdom Come
9) Unholy Blasphemies
10) Abominations
11) Desolate Ways
12) The Ancient Ones
13) In Remembrance
* Bonus video CD-Rom video ‘Blessed are the Sick’
The bonus shit sounds cool, now if only we had some news on a new album or new vocalist......after all its only Trey and Pete right now.

God damn son of a whore's ass, I just bought Blessed Are the Sick three days ago, now I have to haul my fat ass all the way back out to Cleveland and spend more god damn money on that god damn CD, god damn it.
Oh yeah, and I'll have to buy god damn Altars of Madness too, god damn it.
Sweet
I read that the other day, but it didn't really sink in, lol, I've done way too many drugs...

That would be because a lot of the early nineties Earache records are getting out of print, so they're re-releasing the stuff that still sells well as to lose no sales.
A pity they won't do it with the Nocturnus' The Key or Bolt Thrower's Realm of Chaos. Those records will get rare I suppose...
On the other hand,my copy of Altars of Madness is one of the first cd pressings of that album that were sold in Europe in 1989. It's by Globus International, licensed by Earache. That's rare .

Damn I wish I hadnt have traded my Altars of Madness cd. I had the original copy but traded it a couple of years ago. I still have the original Blessed are the Sick. That is the album that got me into extreme music. It's a classic. As far as Morbid Angel goes I lost interest in them after Dave left the band. I can't seem to get into the new guy's vocals. Still a very influential death metal band, with or without Dave.
