Rusty's Ibanez RG String

http://www.rustycooley.com/equipment.html

i think thats his kids posing with it, it would be cool to be related to him
there would be no excuse to be crap at guitar

i think that guitar looks sick! the headstock aint as good as the standard rg one, but its still good. i think it has emg bass pickups, which apparently translate in to emg 85's.

theres rumours that ibanez will be revealing 8 string production guitars at NAMM, this and dino's guitar seems to be additional evidence, so fingers crossed!

That would be like playing a stringed pitrate plank. 7 should be far more then enough strings.

Crazy thing is I think he has a 9 string as well.

I say if you have a use for the extra string then by all means. If not there's no real reason to get it. It's like me buying a 7-string to play Death songs. It just doesn't make much sense. If you buy it use it.

Hey, with an 8 string you could probably get away without a bass player. I can never seem to find a bass player on the same level with me so I just might have to try that idea. I wonder how much there gonna want for it, probably like $1000 bucks huh?

I'm gonna guess at least $2,000 actually. That is custom made and I bet it wasn't free.

The Ibanez 8-string is nice, the Conklin frets look too weird, & i agree with the one dude that 8 strings is a bit much. You can tune to G or F on 7 just as easily. Ive never heard of this Rusty dude before but his gear is real nice even though he looks like he should be in the band Extreme or some gay hair band.

Rusty played Jacksons in all of his videos. I don't follow the guy at all but that is one sexy Ibanez that he's got there. Can someone tell me what the fuck whoever made that orange thing was thinking though. I've seen chunky shit that looks sexier than that thing.

ive seen vids of him playing that conklin axe, i love that melted top.

That ibanez, well its nothing special, its an RG with just some more strings and a uglier headstock whats the big deal??

also just for fun i cheacked out those conklion customs, to see howmuch they are, for a six string u pay 3600 for neckthrough 1100 extra ETC so for a nice looking guitar, and im not talking speacial but simply a nice guitar u pay atleast 10.000 usd may, if i ever get rich wich ill never get

Are you a fan of Nuno & Gary Cherone? LOL, im sorry dude but they had 1 hit song & Gary obviously couldnt hack it in Van Halen, & what has Nuno Bettencourt or whatever his last name is done since the hair band days. I think i saw on VH1 "Where are they now" that he is playing small coffee bars in LA.

In the range of $2000-$3500. Personally, I'd just assume by a 7 string, ditch the bottom string, and add the low G to it (so it'd be G B E A D G B).

Unecessary, for me at least. I'm thinking about getting a 7 string, and stringing it:
A C G C F A D

So that'd be a dropped A string for breakdowns, and the bottom six would be in drop C. And that is THE lowest I'd go. Jeez.

No i dont listen to the radio, i was just stating that he really never did anything worth while for me, meaning that i just couldnt get past the lame songs that they did. And i could care less about shredding, it just doesnt impress or do anything for me. My local guitar tech can shred very fast, does that make him a guitar god?

Well, I guess Rusty finally got his Ibanez custom 8 string.

More strings is not about playing lower, but playing longer runs without having to move all over the fretboard. His lowest string is B, and the high string is an A.

Double drop D!?! AHAHAHA! thats possibly the most n00btacular tuning ive ever seen!

on a serious note, 8 strings is way too much. it would just be much on the last 5 frets of the 8th string. guitar isnt supposed to be that low.

If I had a 7 string, I would tune it

G D G C F A D

Would just be a regular 6 string with an added drop G.

Most of you guys probably tune your guitars lower than rusty tunes his 8 string. His low string is a B, and his high string is an A.
