okay here is a great double bass work out:

basicallu it is the roddy stone killer exercises but with some rolls thrown in:

Okay start off at a nice comfy tempo doing this:

RF ****
LF ****

constantly for 2 minutes (never mind about the smiley faces, they keep the spacing)

then (2 mins)

RF ********
LF ********

and then (2 mins)

RF ****************
LF ****************

then do a roll combining both parts:

RF* * *
LF * * *

etc.

keeping it consistant and to a metronome.

Its my Name in Counter-strike: Source, the e's and m's have a differn't font if you use thoughs letters.

I thought maybe you ment becuase I can't play drums and I'm one of thoughs people that just go out and buy a double kick becuase they feel that playing is nothing with out one... and I'm half that, its just I live in a small town and have to learn drums to start a band (I play guitar) and all the stuff I've written uses little rolls and stuff for double kick as fills, but I wanted to learn to use it properly instead of half arsed

yeah thats all good dude

Practicing rudiments with your feet helps your controll

what I posted earlier is a speed and endurance exercise, rather than controll!!

Doing heel-toe is kind of like a bass drum roll in a way. But not as fast, nor as easy.

But anyways, try using your left foot as much as your right also. It will help in the long run. Rudiments are great for controll. I find it extremly hard to do them after a certain speed. They help alot for those annoying kick patterns when you sometimes have to start out on your less dominant foot. Chris Adler is really great with that stuff.

okay

with heel toe what you do is you play a hit with your heel, then roll your foot forward and play a second stroke with your toes, the result is you can go:

Bdum (really fast 2 hits) with one foot.

when you get good you can do patterns of 3 and 4

Check out the Jojo Mayer vid on www.drummerworld where he shows some mind boggling heel toe work!
