Trick Drums new pedal.

I saw an add in the december 2005 issue of Modern Drummer for a new pedal made by Trick Drums called the Pro1-V. "the most advanced pedal ever". I have heard any other mentions of it anywhere.
I am all for Longboards until I die, but I am curious about this pedal. They look kinda similar to Axis pedals, and have alot of the same adjustments, except it has a compression spring instead of an expansion spring.

yeha I heard about that pedal too, and I must say it looks VERY nice if not a bit of an axis rip off, but the word I have been hearing is that when they hit the market they are going to make axis look cheap!

I have been hearing that too. I dont know how valid their "most advanced pedal in the world" claim is. I guess we'll find out once they get out on the market and get some reviews and such.

Looks awesome indeed... Let's hope it has the qualities of an Axis and the price of an Iron Cobra.

Hmm. Looks interesting. I wonder how that compression spring will feel. I wont be able to try one out anytime soon because no store around here sells trick drum products.

Did anyone see that new Pacific pedal? There's no spring, the footboard just flex's back and forth to create motion. Looks pretty sick.

not just derek, a few other people who went to NAMM and tried it said that it sucked, I mean I know Derek isn't the god of everything but you got to hand it to him, he knows what he is talking about when it comes to drum hardware etc.

as for his bullshit, I think the man speaks alot of sense, I mean what happened in the roddy forum was a bit shit, but he has got a point that a lot of extreme drummers are not respected by other musicians outside of the metal zone, a LOT of people think 'all blasting is, is just speed, it isn't hard, it is boring etc.' and he is trying to change this, but I also think he was a bit out of line in the way he went about it,

I agree.

He's an amazing drummer and he knows his shit, but i don't like the way he handles things. Since the new forum opened up, it made me realize he's just human, not the god we all think of him to be. His dream of trying to change things is way out of hand. When the forum re opens, the same bullshit is going to happen again. I don't know what the hell he's thinking.

I actually think that was more a 'teething' issue, I mean he JUST opened it up and had this idea about trying to gain more respect for extreme drummers, which I reckon might be a dream of his, and people started talking shit about him and his dream, thats gotta piss him off! we shall see what happens when it re opens!

I say give it a good five years and people will really give you guys the credit you deserve. There's just going to be a point, sooner or later, in time where people are talking about Derek, Flo and Kollias the same way they are Carter Beauford and Danny Carey.

Well drummers like Flo are the reason we arent getting credit. I mean his playing is even un-attractive to metal drummers
