hey, i know this thread has probably been vistied a million times, but i need some suggestions, im aiming for a tight brutal death metal sound, (necrophagist, dying fetus, morbid angel, nile, cannibal corpse etc....) ive had my eyes ona shockwave for a while, but is there anything ive missed, ideally id like a 5150 or a marshall tsl2000, but im not rich enough , btw im playing an esp m-200 with an 81 in the bridge........ by budget is about £500 max, any ideas????

If you can't afford a 5150, I'm not sure what you are gonna buy for less that is going to be real brutal.

You'll need a pedal and a perhaps an eq to get real brutal with the 120 BV. After trying it, I can say that it's good, but not good enough just plugging straight in.

Yep, I would suggest a Blue Voodoo. They go for cheap in the UK - I got mine for around £230.

Just to let you guys know.... Jack Owen used a crate BV 300 head for the Wrenched Spawn recording. That head is very expensive but you can get any sound you want out of it. If you go to musicians friend you will see that its like $ 1800 dollars. That head is brutal.

Could one get a Nile-like tone from this Blue Voodoo? You know, with that those really high treble frequencies in it? Listen to Unas Slayer Of The Gods. The palm mutes in the main riff are like: TSHHHST TSHHHST TSHHHST TSHHHST!
I also use the Digitech Death Metal fully mid-scooped and my lefty Schecter C7 comes next year...
