Language obstructions
Seeing as English is not my native language, could anyone be so kind as to explain the meaning of major and minor scales? I'm not a newbie on the guitar, it's just that I honestly haven't been able to translate it...

minor being the pattern of WHWWHWW
W=whole step

Major scales are brighter, happier sounding. Many children songs and heroic themes are written using the major scales and modes.
Minor scales are darker, dissonant, more melancholy sounding. Most metal and hard rock songs are written using the minor scales and modes.

Ah, NOW I get it
Yes yes, I see what it is. Thank you very much, it was beginning to get to me.
Always annoying when even the most basic concepts are unreachable because of a mere difference in syllabeles.
Thanks again!

As some wise chinese on a hilltop supposedly said:
"It is better to ask and seem stupid than not to ask and remain stupid"

Nothing personal, I just have a flair for the social equivalent of tap dancing.
Notice how I still don't mention my native language?
