get a surtain sound of your guitar, like say you like Meshuggahs tone, but theres no 6 string version of that PU available, hat do you do?

are ui talking bout the tone they have on the cd's???
cuz i think its impossible to get exacly the sound ANy band has on an album, cuz theres so much stuff in a studio (gates, eq's, effects, etcetcetcetc), that a normal man would never think of, or ever be able to pay for.
IMO, im no expert, its just what sound logic to me

besides, 7 (and 8 and whatnot) string pu's are modeled after 6 string ones..
would prolly only work well with a lipstick tube pu or something simmilar..

On certain pickups they are & your not gonna get a 7-string sound out of a 6-string guitar no matter what pickups you put in it.
