you walk into guitar center and walk out short $500 because you felt the need to put a soldano hot rod 50 with the serial # 17 on hold. 
one more amp wont hurt anything i guess.... except my checking account.

Buying new gear is an awesome feeling, and it's quite addicting. I usually don't even look in gear forum because i know i'll end up going out and buying something I don't really need right now.

it's only on hold right now  .... i walked in, hung out... showing all my buddys that work there my splawn... then i noticed they had a soldano hotrod 50 so i started jamming on it... it sounded really good for a 6l6 amp, i was looking at the back and noticed the serial # was 17!!!  my buddy knocked $200 off the price tag and said if i could give him $500 down on it, he'd hold it as long as i needed. 
so hopefully it will come home with me within a couple weeks. and then there will be pictures. or if i can get approved for some kind of 90 day same as cash thing.
it's 50w, but that fucker is LOUD, i mean the knobs litterally go to 11.
i'm excited, i set it up for the most amazing crunch tones i could get out of it, and i was jamming with a zakk wyld overdrive over that to get such an awesome tight high gain sound. no doubt it's going to rock more with my maxon od808.
i still prefer the splawn as a naked amp. but with my ernie ball volume and maxon overdrive, the soldano isnt going to fuck around.
time for me to go do some overtime so i can bring this bad boy home!

I just bought a 31 band EQ unit and an older Aphex Aural Exciter all for 120$. I'm going to sell a few more things, when I'm all done I will have :
EQ --> Exciter --> Crate GT350 --> One Genz Benz 2x12 with 400 watt Eminence Delta Pros, mono'd out to a Peavey 1x15 Black Widow ( hey, the cab sounds good ), and that's one input of the amp. The other is going to push hopefully a Marshall 1960 4x12 cab, if not that then I'll go with Avatar. Everything will be running 350 watts at 2 ohms
What I would REALLY like, is two boutique-quality 4x12's, and two Rivera Los Lobottom 2x12 active guitar subwoofers. But that would set me back financially quite a ways, so I'm going to have to wait. |
