Im sick of seeing people bag on great shredders. People always say that "that sux, hes just showng off". showing off has nothing to do with it. people shred for themselves, for their own fulfillment. And its fun as hell if u can do it. they are just pushing their limits to see what they can really acheive, progressing. hence the name "progressive". these guys are doing things that alot of people will never be able to do...... so at least pay some respect.

can you give examples of these? I think you might be misunderstanding them theyre not saying they suck per-se but that it is just them going as fast and as technical as they can so its not much emotion involved in it which is why many people get turned off by it

I won't say any names but there are always people who bitch about them not being able to write songs. True, many of them can't, but don't bitch about 'em showing off when that's like the whole point of a video.

No, actually I don't.

shred sucks cuz they use their speed to their advantage and just play fast.
but if its somthing u actually can listen and enjoy like mr.becker then its all good. shreding is pretty much the same thing as nu-metal. its repetitious, im not saying all the shredders are bad. some of them are fucking genous. but yet most of them just suck like MAB/rusty cuz all they do is sweep for about 5 mins.

This is subjective, some people like shred, others don't.
Playing sweeps at warp factor non stop is really not my cup of tea and doesn't blow my skirt up but I can appreciate people's ability and desire to push their playing to extremes. Hats off to 'em.
If you like it, cool, if you don't, cool, just listen to what pleases you. Starting threads to bleat about shredders getting blasted is just going to get you blasted by those people even more, and then they'll be another thread "I'm sick of seeing people bag on me...".
