American Black Metal??
I enjoy black metal quite a bit. In fact I do vocals and guitar in a BM band. Recently a band member pointed out to me that it is impossible to be an american BM band. I know that black metal is anti-religion because it destroyed ancient nordic culture, and is destroying humanity. As an american i have little or no nordic heritage. But i feel the same way and no quite a bit about Norse mythology and Christian mythology. Do you think it is possible for my band (or yours if you play BM and are american) to be an American BM band.

Of course you can create a black metal band if that is the music you enjoy and want to compose. I am from Norway and I have a critical view on chistiannitys doctrine, desolation and its origins, and if you are critical to those things as well, you can have lyrics concerning those matters.

Is it just me or is this a stupid question? Who cares...make music to whatever way you want and write lyrics however you want. There are a lot of bands that aren't from Scandanavia and still produce black metal. It is like asking if americans can make heavy metal because it started up in britain...stupid question...

Of course you can be BM. I dislike alot of Norway BM, too gay. USBM is the best. December Wolves, best band ever. Plus, Australia releases great black metal.

I usually try to ignore US black metal bands because most of them suck, but damn some of them are fucking kick ass. But sadly, I havent heard from that some because we lack good BM bands. Nowadays everyones going for that symphonic bull shit.

Grand Belial's Key uis better than most black metal period. They formed in like 1991 and are all about killing Jews.
