I think everybody forgot the meaning of this thread, they mean growls/screams not growlers/screamers. Like screams in songs specifically, not who'se doing them. For example-
Cryptopsy- Crown of Horns- First scream in the song.

Slayer's Reign in Blood and Crypts of Eternity are really good but the best is the opening to Manowar's Metal Daze. Eric Adams is unequivically the best metal vocalist ever.

Theres a part right near the end where I believe alot of the instruments cut out, and its just one guitar playin a fucked up riff and the nastiest scream ever, cuts straight through me. Nice shit.

The whole song is awesome for vocals, but near the end right after the solos (which kick ass) the vocal line goes on about somethin like, "Cast down the weary and..." and it just slays all.

the vocals on from wisdom to hate are probably the most rabid, vicious and emotional death metal vocals ever. "elusive treasures" has that one clean build up then luc just goes insane

Well, the topic said worst too. I may be alone in saying this, but Anselmo's growl-ish type shrieky scream, or whatever the fuck it is, in Pantera's Domination is annoying. It's at the end of the pre-chorus or chorus or something (it's hard to tell which parts are which sometimes). I'm not sure of the lyrics but it sounds like "before". You'll know it when you hear it. It's not his style at all. Whatever it is he's trying to do, he can't pull it off.

Nile - Execration Text - When Karl Sanders growls "I threaten thee with the second death" in the first verse. He sounds like such a fucking foghorn. It's awesome.
And maybe not the worst, but my least favorite growl is the first verse in disfigured by Cannibal Corpse. Great band, great growler, but I dunno what the fuck happened to him there. He just sounds like he's breathing really hard, not really growling.

i totally agree. they both have such a terrific range they can range from a ridiculously high scream to a guttural abyssal growl. but personally i prefer mikes coz it has a more expressive tone to it instead just being in either scream mode or growl mode lol. but listen to jason's amazingness in Becoming The Adversary, especially one amazing scream at about 2:40 in.
and yet both of them have great singing voices too! 
and if anyones heard katatonias first full-length album "Dance of December Souls", the vocalist Jonas used to have an amazing emotional, tortured black metal scream to accompany the mournful music. nowadays he has a nice singing voice and leaves the screaming to the guitarist lol. my fave is the opening scream in "Without God".
