New to drums

I've been lurking here for a few weeks and have learned a few things reading questions posted by others. Now I have one. After looking for a deal on a double pedal I finally bought a used Pearl Eliminator Powershifter. I am very new to drums. I bought my kit about 2 months ago. Now for the question. The pedal has the 4 different cams and all kinds of other adjustments. Anyone that has this pedal or experience with it I would like your input on a decent setting for just starting out with it. I know everyone is different, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

okay first I would say is put your spring tension up, get the beater at a distance where it the stroke (eg how much the beater moves to hit the skin) to a point where it is comfortable, Play with the cams, till you get a good feel, most people like the red cams I believe. and then play with the foot board position till it feels right.

Remember with pedals it is not about what everyone else uses (although this can be a good indication of what is a good setup) but what feels right for you.

If you can double bass a 300 bpm it doesn't matter if your pedal setup is the complete opposite of what anyone else uses who can only play at 280, You get what I am saying?

Yep, I hear ya. Too bad I'm nowhere near those numbers. I'll try the things you said there and see how it feels. I appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Andy
