RATM has good basswork, and its funky stuff to get your technique from.

Cryptopsy - Phobophile
Dissection - Thorns of Crimson Death
Mayhem - Life Eternal
Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls
Metallica - My Friend of Misery
Megadeth - Peace Sells....
Slayer - Black Magic
Immortal - Where Dark and Light Don't Differ
Immortal - Mountains of Might

Thats about all I can think of right now.

well...first off, outside of the 3 Death covers (Scavenger of Human Sorrow, Flattening of Emotions, Voice of the Soul) I haven't bothered with cover tunes in almost 10 years.

In the 15 years prior to that, I couldn't begin to count the number of cover songs I mastered, from funky jazz tunes, to pop tunes (all for a cover band to make free beer and chicken wings every Thursday night!!!) to all the early Exodus, Metallica, Riot, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Sabbath, Maiden (pretty well every Maiden tune up to Powerslaves), etc. Even learned "Run for your Life" by both Riot and Loudness (Rowdness...hehehe) which has an amazing little bass line in it.

Cheers.

Wow...to many to name. The ones I run through the most at the moment are the St. Anger album, Ride the Lightning album, and By The Way album.

Bach- 4th invention, cello prelude in G, prelude in C, and this cool cello suite
Beethoven- moonlight sonata ( only the intro for about a minute)
