"metal lead guitar" by Troy Stetina

hey guys, i'm looking for this book, volume 1 and 2.

I was browsing trough the lessong books in the music store, and from the looks of it, i tought it was kinda intresting with some excersises and ideas on how to apply scales. The price kinda killed it for me, it was 30 euros each (equalivent of 36 US dollars), while they cost a mere $10 on amazon. Unforntunatly, I can't buy stuff from amazon outside the US, so does anyone know where, or have an PDF copy (or something simmilar) of this book?

volume 1 is a bit too simple, great if your a real beginner, but not much help if you already know what a hammer-on is, but volume 2 is a real treat.

Yeah, volume 1 is aimed at beginners, and may not be worth looking into, plus it focuses a lot on the dreadful constricting wrath or pentatonic scales. The second is definately worth checking out though, but some of the songs in it didn't interest me so I never bothered learning them.

If you do get it, be sure to check out the section on the harmonic minor scales though, a song called "Lightning's Edge".

As for Speed Mechanics, it's a useful book, but you only get out of it what you put into it. You literally should spend a minimum of 20 minutes a day doing excercises from the book if you want it to help you. Don't buy it expecting it to benefit your music or playing instantly, it focuses on improving the tightness and accuracy of the mechanics of your playing, through given excercises and directions on ways to learn them.

Definately buy it if you genuinely get pleasure from playing guitar, inparticular spending time learning excercises. If you're the kind of person who fidns this painfully boring and your attention span means you're back to playing riffs and tunes within 3 minutes, I wouldn't bother and would stick with getting excercises from the internet/developing your own.
