I like no inlays, or single 12th inlays the best, followed by black pearl. I also like Ibanez sharktooth inlays, on the RG350 they look like mountain peaks.

It depends on the guitar. I mean, you wouldn't have sharkfins on a Gibson Les, now would you? No. But all around, I guess the sharktooth that the Ibanez RGs have on them. Other than that, Diamond inlays kick ass too.

as for the inlays, it really depends on the guitar. sharkfins look great on a jackson, but imagine them on an sg!
id have to say off set dots. i dont like when half the fret area is pearl and half is wood, but dots always look cheap
