ive been looking at new bands and realized, there arent many bands that use standerd tuniong anymore... what bands still uses it today? do any of you?

Yes, when I first heard them and saw how heavy they were, I thought they de-tuned. Was surprised when I found out that almost all their songs are stanndard. |

Wow... Opeth use standard? I'm really surprised.
Immortal used standard E tuning up until Sons of Northern Darkness, I believe. Standard tuning, like most BM bands. Einherjer also use standard.
I think standard is best for good old fashioned thrash, power, and heavy metal. King Diamond use standard, right? Manowar still write some songs in standard, but a lot of the recent stuff is in D or Eb

Seen 1 or 2 Zyklon tabs in E standard. Whether they're correct or not remains to be seen but they sound right enough.
You could technicaly count bands using 7 strings tuned BEADGBE (or AEAD...) as using standard tuning.

there are even LESS bands who tune in standArd
all black metal is usually in E, for whatever reason.emperor. old thrash...

my main guitar is tuned to C# nowadays.
Old metallica is in E. The other bands I know off are already mentioned.

I think alot of new bands don't use standard tuning because they can't write a heavy sounding song in E. I personally like E tuning because when played right it sounds razor sharp.

I can only think of Megadeth. Maybe Lamb of God can be an exception but they're in Drop-D.
