5150 type 2 to sell or not to sell....

some offerd me $650 for my peavey 5150 type 2 head...im trying to find something better.i like it for the most part i know theres something out there with more balls.now i was looking at engl preamps im stupid i never used a preamp before can i run into my computer through my mixer?do i have to have a power amp to play though my cab?also what other companys are good for death metal,,,if u can name some amps and just write what bands use em to give me an idea on how they sound ..im looking to spend bout 1000 and under for a new set up

i'm assuming you're talking about a 5150 II....

you could get an easy $800 out of it. don't settle for $650. take advantage of overpricedness of the 5150's while it's there. you can always by another one or a 6505+(exact same amp) when they start hitting the used market.

if you run a preamp, you need a power amp to push the cab...

to run into the computer you're going to want some sort of DI/interface thing.

no, a 6505 IS a 5150...

evh left peavey and since he had patents on the "5150" but peavey had patents on the actually amp design(ripped off of the slo).

so they just renamed it.

tonally there is not a single difference between a 5150 and a 6505... even cosmetically they're similar.

the 6505+ is the exact same thing as the 5150 II
