skilled guitarist
there are so many brilliant guitarists out there, theres the obviouse ones that everyone knows like yngwie malmsteen, paul gilbert, steve vai etc etc etc, but then theres all the great guitarists that dont share the spotlight so much because they play in a sucky band like rusty cooley, nuno bettencourt, michael romeo etc etc etc, i want to know who people think are brilliant guitarists but not well known about

Ron motherfucking Thal AKA Bumbblefoot. That guy does a two handed over the fretboard tapping version of a Chopin piece. And that song "Guitars Suck" is fucking brilliant.

Chris Arp of Psyopus. Eight finger tapping is all I need to say to sum up his exceptional ability.

Outside the Metal genere....I recall a guy named Stanley Jorden....played no metal but easily made it sound as if there were two...sometimes three guitars playing. Very impressive skills.

He bas(s)ically plays the same thing as Chris which is amazing considering that he has, depending on which type of bass he plays, 1 or 2 less strings to play with.

He's primarily a solo artist. He used to be a street musician in the California bay area and he developed his two handed tapping style because he didn't have a pick and had no one to show him how to play "normal".

Bullshit, John knows hes an amazing player, he also knows how to write a fucking song.
Try it... its an amazing experience, alot harder then just playing mindless scales and calling it "Blitzkrieg".
