all together i think Jacksons are a better deal.....but if you get a custom Ibanez then i think thats as good as a Jackson. I played about 10 different Ibanez's yesterday and i own a jackson RR-IT with an emg 81 for the bridge and an 85 for the neck...some of the custom ibanez's at this shop i was at sounded REAL sweet for the kind of metal i play (Testament, Iced Earth. Death, Children Of Bodom, Iron Maiden, etc...) I'm kind of stuck in a situation too...i have close to $2,000 for another guitar and i dont know whether to get a Jackson Soloist 1 or a custom Ibanez...

top of the line Ibanez or Jackson dinky

think thats what it boils down too, if you get a jackson, get one with emg's and floyd, or if you want w/out floyd, if you're getting a ibanez, go for the higher series, they rock, don't settle for an ibanez with crappy pickups.

what kinda custom ibanez are you talking about?

depends on your budget, you could get a nice ibanez RG series for 3, 400 bucks, jacksons would end up being 5, 600. Even though they would come with EMGs which i have yet to see an ibanez come with.

well that's your side of the story, Ibanez are by no means crappy guitars, and not all ibanez's sound crappy, true, the cheaper series suck.

but, have you played a Jem uv777 or those kinda models? well, I suggest you try, they're fucking amazing, though they cost a lot of money, for money value, I think a jackson would be better, but expensive Ibanez's kick ass too.

the only thing to do is just play the bitches and find out which you like best.

also keep in mind that the factory pickups on the jackson aren't the best thing known to man. but trust me on this. the feel of playing them is COMPLETLY different. and for more info check out harmony-central.com they have pretty good user reviews on both of them.
i am a little spoiled though with the jackson. i got lucky enough to get one on ebay for 230, turned out to be one of the more limited edition from japan. very sweet guitar. all and all i think i would have to agree though. you wont know till you play them. its all about the feeling.

custom meaning you're changing what? The only people who get Ibanez's built to their personal specs are endorsees like Satch, Vai, the dudes from Korn... so it's either that or you're paying Hoshino an assload assload of cash...

Sure, many of the Ibanez's are rather cheap and nasty. but they come out with the odd guitar which is really nice to play, and who could possibly make better 7-Strings than Ibanez? show me a nice Jackson 7-String and then i'll believe you that Jacksons are better!

If i were you, i go w/ the Ibanez. I have an Ibanez S-Series, I've been playing for about 3 years now, and out of all the guitars Ive played, I feel Ibanez has the grander quality. It's time to retire the good old Jackson.

Ever played on a cheap Jackson? They are huge peices of crap...just like ANY cheap end budget guitar. You get what you pay most all the time...especially with guitars. Most big manufacturers make budget priced guitars targeting beginning and less seasoned guitarists because most of them dont really know what the main differences between the high end models and the budget models are, nor would they be able to tell a lot of difference playabilty wise if they were setting next to each other. The only budget minded guitars I have ever had much use for were Epiphones...but they are really mid-range priced.

If you compare the DKMG or DXMG to a prestige Ibanez,
They're are pratically the same. But If you compare the DXMG to guitars
with its same price range, you'll see that the DXMG is the WAY to GO!!!

and then tell me if a high-end jackson or high-end ibanez is better?

give reasons too
