Angry I hear voices

Couldn't think of a better title.
Problem- I had a broken ear drum and ever since I can hear myself, be it talking or singing.
Just like you hear your voice if you stick your fingers in you ears.
Well it keeps throwing me off key, pitch, what ever you want to call it.
I've went through the threads, and have learned a lot of great techs. But I
haven't seen any topic close to this.
Has anyone had this problem?
If so, what did you figure out?
Amplification is great . But this is a real pain in the arse..

Hmmm... Try having your ear removed then you will not have that problem. Otherwise, I have no idea what to do.

Eardrums do not heal, and do not grow back. Once you mess them up, you life becomes worthless.

Well, not true. A broken eardrum= ruptured eardrum. The eardrum is a thin membrane that separates the ear canal from the middle ear.
Ever stick something in your ear to far an touch it, you'll FEEL it.
Though they heal back and with possible hearing loss, that's not always the case.
Myself and others end up hearing more. With the eardrum normal, which works on vibration, if that covering isn't normal it can either hinder the hearing or make it more sensitive? All I can think of is a fucken bat.

Good. Don't.
Another thing you NEVER want to do....If you ever have a broken eardrum, don't
get water in that ear. The water will go through the tear straight into the middle ear.
That is Pain beyond Pain.

Psh. My bad, I must have been thinking of the hammer in the ear that does not heal or something. I have no idea how a ruptured eardrum can make your hearing better. In all sense, that might seem opposite the truth.

put your finger in the ear that isn't broken, then atleast you wont be lopsided anymore.

but i get what your saying, you hear your own voice louder, and everything else muffled?
you have to find a way to get external noises to your head. what about specially EQ'ed earphones?

Shit man that sucks, you should go to an ear specialist or something, I'm not sure many people know about that stuff here.

Hoi,

Sometimes I have the same Problem, put only for a few minutes..... I know exacly how that feels... in my case, when the hearing problem occurs, my senses get more sensetive, I not only hear my own voice three times as loud, also sounds all around me appear louder...

Well, I don't have that for long, as I said, it goes away after some minutes (I'm german and I drank some beer right know, is minutes a word?!)

But sry, even though I know what you are experiencing, I can't help you....

Hope its getting better for you soon.

Cheers

you can break your eardrum. a ruptured eardrum is a tear of the tympanic membrane, which can heal. but, if the bones connected to it (incus, malleus, or stapes, the actual eardrum) are broken, you're pretty much fucked. from what i know, they're far too small to reconstruct or anything.
pointless post? perhaps, but at least i can tell my parents they got their money's worth in paying for all those college anatomy classes
