GAXB150 or SRP400

Question for my bassist friend.
He is looking at new bass's and i cant help him with them.He has narrowed it down to two.So what are your opinions on the Ibanez GAXB150 ,and the squier affinity p-bass (SRP400).

my opinion: they both suck goat chode.

but for a beginner bass, the ibanez would do better, faster and more comfortable neck

Can you recomend a good one?He is after a post-begginer bass?.any suggestions.

budget? kinda depends on what he has to spend.

for metal I like ibanez sr basses because of their slim neck and punchy sound. you can get a japanese made sr for a decent price.

don't get the korean made stuff like the gsr's if you can afford a jap sr
