I AM only (almost) 14 years old... 
For me it plays just as good in belt buckle heigt as in belly button or higher heigt, but I can't solo that fast so that might be one of the reasons for that. But when it's lower than belt buckle it actually feels more comfortable to me playing up on the higher frets than the lower ones.

I play right at about the belt buckle.. but i've been sitting down to much playing my guitar.. so I've been finding it difficult alternate picking .. but im getting used to it again

mine's just under my nips. tis annoying sometimes when it comes to alternate picking. i used to have it as low as it would go....but as i started playing harder stuff it just seemed impossible, but it's much easier now on my left hand too and the strain that manifests over time isn't there anymore.
*think berzerker guitarist but uglier*

My guitar is way up high, an 1/2 inch or so below my nipples. I find soloing MUCH easier that way, and fast riffs are also much easier.
This is probably due to the fact that a pratice sitting down all the time, with my seat at it's lowest.

If I'm playing my V then I'll have the pickups at my nuts so that i can see the fretboard properly, but I'll have the axe tilted so that the headstock reaches my shoulders so I can still play the damn thing. If I'm playing a normal strat shaped axe then I'll tend to have it so that the pickups are over my belly button, so that I have easy acess to the whole of the axe (inc. the pickup selectors!!  )

i have my guitar basicaly as high as when i sit and play. i adjust my strap lie, this, i sit and put the strap ion so its almost hanging when i sit, then i stand up (duh) and i usualy lower it a bit, this gives me good acces to the 24th fret and shit, but i guess everyone like it different
