How about NOT counting posts from Chit-Chat? The number of posts would then reflect the actual contribution, not the post whoring abilities...

I side with Guitar Demon on this one: it should be reserved for people who make a decent contribution as judged by yourself, Nomad. If a number of posts were to be imposed before getting one though, I would agree with Def and say 5000 is a better figure but everything's fine as it is, I reckon.

Haha, yeah! Fuck custom user titles for postwhores, anybody with more than 5000 posts should have the user title "Rampant Post Whore". Every time somebody whines about user titles, they should be threatened with a title like that to shut them up.

I actually wouldn't mind having a custom user title, but if I did, it would probably say "Haha, Transient" or "No Custom Title For You" or something like that. That would kick so much ass.
