Looks like there's some takers that can probably make a competition for the guitar and bass happen. How about drums and vocals? Anyone out there? I should add, it probably won't be death metal or anything like that. I'll just write whatever rhythm guitar comes to me, so it will likely just be plain old RIPDime flavored metal.

I got an idea, too. I'll send you recordings of me playing. You'll send me all those hundreds of dollars just to make me quit!
hahaha I'm so brilliant. I suck on guitar.

Sure, I'm ok with that. What does everyone else think? Should there be a rule that you can only win one of the $100 prizes per person, to keep it wide open for all? Thoughts?

I'll be willing to write some bass for the song. Time to put my 10 years of bass practice to work, eh? Hell, I'll do vocals to. Death, growl, screams, or clean? Which do you you prefer?

It's gonna take a few days. I am gone for work again tomorrow, then got my mother-in-law coming into town on Tuesday night around the time I get back. I'm gonna have to lay it down over Christmas break or something. And I still have to make something up. This'll be something brand new. Sorry, but hey I'm a busy guy. Full-time job, four kids and a big move coming up. I'm thinking timeframe for this contest is going to be to have all voting done and pick winners by January 31.

I can hear wally now--"No, you don't. She's right. She does suck."

Nice!~ I'll leave the vocal style to your discretion once the rhythm track goes down. You make the call and all the metaltabbers will vote on the best.
I'll give it another day or two for everyone's responses and feedback to come in and then I will post official contest rules and timeframe on this thread.

Cool, I can't wait to hear it. Knowing me, I'll probably show and throw in a little bit of each when it comes to the vocals.

dime, a request.
if your record the track, could you use a click-track or metronome? it will be easier to write a drumtrack that way, or you should rerecord it when the drumtrack is done.

Yeah, I can try to go with the clicktrack when I record. My timing is for shit sometimes anyway. I'm no fucking guitar monster by any stretch, but yeah, I'll do whatever I can to make it work. I'm hoping we can create a great fucking, very precise, high quality song with this...That's my goal anyways.
Oh, and you can call me RIPDime. Dime I'm not.

Well ill give it a listen, im always up for layin some vocals down. And if nobody lays some credible guitar ill have to bring the old axe out and lay some chunky dime style lead down. But im more keen for the vocals.

yes i have an excellent idea pay a skilled drummer/basss/vocalist 50 dollars each to do their best piece, then get your guitar teacher to do one.
that way you can spend 150 dollars, and get 350 back!
