God forbid me listening to anything other than death metal. At least I'm man enough to admit it. And about the Marduk thing. I don't really know what Marduk sounds like since I only heard one song. I just didn't want to list another band that it did in my list.

CoF is gothic influenced BM. It's fucking stupid to take music out of it's context of sound. So they dress funny, that doesn't change their music. The people who make the music don't matter. If the band sounds like BM, it's BM. So they have nice melodies, who the fuck said that BM can't have nice melodies, and who the fuck are you to say what's BM in the first place? Trad whores....

Most people are elitist pricks. It's the worst thing about the metal scene. I don't like CoF or nu-metal, and I'm vocal about it, but I don't have to slag people because they like it. Music affects you viscerally and emotionally; there's no way to point out that somebody's reaction is inferior to yours. You can say it's crap, but you're in the same territory as, to borrow BrokenCrimson's apt term, trad bitches when you take that line to music. Looking down on somebody for their taste is idiotic and would ideally be beneath us. Bands I dislike and don't respect I ignore.
