A few good established acts usually play, and you'll often find an up-and-coming unknown band there that explodes immediately afterward (for example: Cephalic Carnage. I believe Nevermore did the same), but for the most part you're right. It's definitely not the equivalent to European festivals it pretends to be.

it took me fucking ages to get to Wacken last year, it was 1 hour to france, 4 hours to paris, 10/12 hours to hamburg, about an hour or so to get near wacken, then a 20 minute bus coach to the wacken fest. its a fucking bastard, the amount of trains ya have to get but if ya get drunk time soon flys by

hmm, the line-up really cant compare to other festivals this year. I think we'll go to With Full Force. It's cheaper, got a better line-up and it's closer to tsjechslovakia, were we'll head to afterwards for a week of cheap as metal and grindcore (extreme obscene)

dont know any zyklon songs, but they seemed very interesting in the beginning -> but i got bored very quickly, maybe because i was tired, they played at 12 on saturday morning...

Dissection was glorious, mucho old songs like the somberlain and frozen, and some evil preaches from that satanist dude, hahaha "i see a lot of inverted crosses, they have a meaning, they mean that you stand for MY believes!"

Kreator was cool, but they played the last night, and i was sooooooooooooo tired from the 2 days of standing and drinking too much that i just went halfway through the set, but they kicked ass, don;t get me wrong
