'Walking The Mile' - Lyrics to a song I just wrote, please read..

Awakened in my cell
A vision of cessation on the horizon
'Guilty', he says, drawing the curtains
Sentenced to death, surrounded in darkness

'This is the longest road you'll ever walk' he said
Walking the mile, prodded by the Reaper's deadly weapon
Drops of blood echoe throughout this lonely cell
Tears, a symbol of one's failure

Stern, resentful gazes
Witnesses to my final chapter
A hidden identity
'Controllore della tua vita'

Strapped to my throne of death
'Why would I fight for a life which has already been taken away from me?'
God's gift of life on Earth has ceased
Lightning never strikes the same place twice

That means 'controller of your life', but it sounds more effective in Italian

I was wondering that myself. It seemed to have a really good story line and the flow was good. the only thing that seemed out of place to me was the very last line. That seemed to make it call for more so maybe a repeat of another part of the piece could come after that to round it off? Just a thought. It really left me hanging. (Pardon my pun.) The second part might work for that.

You are right, but depends really on the music itself. I would say those lyrics fit good into songs with "Sprechgesang"
You might want to try out some possibilities to produce music that fits to the lyrics. What I like is that you don't use chorus. I hate fucking lyrics with choruses.

Pretty cool. Got any music to go with it?

Just my opinion, but if you had said something in Latin instead of Italian it would have sounded cooler. That is, of course, just my opinion.

When you know the Artist Devil Doll, who makes a kind of experimental classical music, you would exacly know what I mean. Sprechgesang is the German musical term for talking normal in a song. So you basically don't sing, you don't growl, you just talk. If you use the right techniques, this can be very useful for building up tention/ atmosphere in your songs/ compositions.

Oh yeh, I know what you mean. It would be good for an intro to a song or something. The words are spoken out normally as you say, and then another set of lyrics are sung out during the rest of the song.
