Member-only tab voting would be nice, but overall I think voting will plummet if this was implemented. Maybe the votes could be moderated and unrealistic votes removed/edited or someone can only register a vote with a comment attached to it. Just a thought, although I understand that it would be very labour intensive to moderate every vote.

Oh and headbanging smiley would be very welcome indeed!

Yeah I was actually thinking of the second to last one in BLS's list for the head banging one. And those first to are HI-larious. But we must keep in mind that we have like some really original smiles that aren't used elsewhere. We should keep that up. Like Nomad did for the title bullshitters, the person who comes up with the best [insert max# of smiles allowed] ORIGINAL smiles gets a custom title! yayyy...not that I care

Member only tab votes would still be a nice idea but as you have said about the moderation needed, I'm sure this site gets 40 new tabs every day. We'd need to split it into section and have like 1-2 mods to each few tabs.

I think the best way to improve the voting is to require a comment with any vote. Any "This tab sux n u blow chode" remarks (and the corresponding vote) can be deleted. Obviously, it will need to be made clear that stupid, unreasoned votes/comments will be deleted. I'm thinking that with this system in place maybe people will give the tab an accurate rating rather than a 1 because they've spotted that one note is out of place.

As for the rate of submissions, I'd say it's more like 12-15 tabs on a busy day and as few as 5 on a quiet day. I should imagine that there are for more votes registered each day than tabs. Of course, if there are hundreds of votes submitted per day then moderating these votes becomes very time consuming and the idea of screening votes becomes redundant.

On the whole, I think the voting system is OK as it is. It gets annoying when somebody deliberately votes a tab that you've spent hours and hours on a 1 out of spite, but those instances are few and far between. It would be nice to see some comments on our tabs but I don't think it is an essential feature by any means.

A suggestion on this moderating votes thing, You could have the owners of the tab review their own votes, and any that they think is unfair is flagged for review by a higher power, whom can then delete them if they agree

Yeah i think the sites fine as it is, and if BLS and that lot want smilies it wouldnt hurt to do that.. i dont think you should change the layout, like the buttons, cos it took me ages to get used to the change last time, hahaha

I've seen tabbers recently teaming up to create tabs (like the three guys all doing those CC tabs at the moment) and so I thought It might be an idea to have some sort of co-author part (where applicable) in the tab submission section. Just a thought.

Would it be possible at some point in the future for authors of tabs to be able to edit their tabs after they've been uploaded to the site without having to re-post them in the pending tabs forum? I think this (if possible) would make editing tabs a lot more efficient and user friendly. Just an idea!
