one thing i found very important especially during the winter is listerine and i dont mean the pussy mint or orange stuff... and ive found that the bakeing soda helps amazingly with guttural stuff

After heavy lifting/football/etc and your muscles are sore if you drink i think 1 teaspoon with 16oz of water yor muscles recover very very quickly.

So i would think gargling baking soda would help recover the throat soreness and get it ready or some more death metal violence!!!

I need to get educated on some technique.
Our vocalist wants to do something like nile and have all of us doing vocals.
I am expected to do the low gutturals because I have the lowest voice, but I havent the slightest idea how.
Im talking about the stuff he does in the end of user-maat-re on annihilation of the wicked and it almost sounds like a long low belch.
My guess is that it is an inhale but I dont know.
Any ideas?

i guess...if awesome vox means just yelling in a mic, then doing low "I wish I was evil, nobody understands me" mumbling.

Nah man, you go ahead and yell into a mic, you'll never sound like him, all you'll get is a fuckload of distortion. I'm not a huge fan of Slipknot, but I do like a lot of Stone Sour songs and his cleans are also quite good. Hes not perfect, but at least he doesn't fake his voice through effects 'n stuff. I kinda respect the guy ;-)

What the fuck? Have you ever heard Slipknot or Stone Sour at all? I wouldnt say that for example Silly World, Through Glass or Zzyxx Roead (Stone Sour) got that much randomly yelling.

well, I'm not too into clean vocals myself......so I wouldn't be the best judge, but I like the way Ihsahn does clean vocals, and vortex. Corey taylor isn't near them at all, just in my opinion though.

Well, of course, we all got different taste, but i like his clean voice. Vegard Sverre Tveitan(Ihsahn) is pretty damn good too, but Corey Taylor has a total different way of singing. I like Corey better, but Ihsahn also got a place in my favorite list :P But as i said before, we all got different taste.
