Shit, youse made me feel like shit, reminded me of that South Park episode where the parents take the kids to the "Tolerance Museum" and then rag on a smoker outside....heheheh
Anyways, I've been a vocalist for a while, longer than I've been smoking. And no, I didn't start smoking to have deeper vocals, I don't even know why I started smoking but now I don't want to quit...I probably have cancer already so it doesn't matter to me really. I've never tried any of those things you guys mentioned, like the milk and all that other shit. My vox have always been pretty deep and raspy, but recently I've been messing with low screams instead of growls, kinda like Barney Greenway...I sound fuckin monstrous. As for clear vox, I'd love to be able to sing all that cock-rock shit but my voice cracks like a hymen so i just say fuck it. I'm just concentrating on my guitar playing right now but when I want to sing, it's all gravy, heheh.

at the moment i only drink stuff to thicken temporarily, like apple juice is good stuff. delicious and nutritious too.
so your throat is as dry as a nun's cunt, thats better than rooting your vocal chords on a more permanent basis. but hey if the grinder of all things corpse-like told chow666 it works.....it probably does.

Krow 666, u are so full of shit. chain smoke 2 cigs? lol. if u really want a low grunt, crack your vocal chords, but still scream on them. uu can go up to mountains, and scream, and crack them, and theyll heal in about 2 weeks, or u can work at a haunted house, like i did, and crack them on accident, and still scream on them, and they'll heal in about a month and a half, and ure voice will be like 1 octave deeper. and always drink WARM fluids. Fuck smoking. It accually makes your growels fucking horrible. I'm not that good of a growler myself. I can do stuff like Dying Fetus, Nile, Mortician,Lord Gore, Prostitute Disfigurement, Devourment, ect. ect.
Look at George Fisher never once smoked a cigarrette before and look at his voice. OK OK he's loosing it but whatever. He drinks warm water with baking soda.

Hey, i am guy form Norway.
I do vocals in my band called Beyond Insanity.
In the last year i`ve grewn in knowlage of what i am doing, and that leads me up to where i am to day. but i am lookong fore some more knowlage.
Does anny one know where i can find some good advices fore how using the voice by growling. i also want the high pitch part.

When I growl I am usually on par with Randy Bltyhe and Brain Fair. But my goal is to be able to sing like Layne Staley.
