I got some too...
the old Anthrax tone on Among the Living (sounds so lively and oldskool)
Death's tone on Symbolic
the Obituary tone on World Demise
Arkangel's Dead Man walking's tone.
The Haunted's tone is neat too, pretty agressive...
Shockwave's tone on The Ultimate Doom
xDisciplex A.D.'s tone on Benediction and Heaven and Hell
if you're talking about unique tones, Tom Morello and Dino Cazares (love the super-dry distortion)
I guess thats my list for so far.

Micheal Amott's tone, in carcass he had a greta sound, and he still does in arch enemy he uses 5150's also
Cannibal Corpse's one on The Bleeding
Cephalic Carnage has a cool sound, i think they use some solid state randalls
Exhumed's tone.. they also uses 5150's

any idea how they get the tone on PFW def? or anyone? its so out there sounding
alexi does have a brilliant and likeable guitar tone too. all of their albums have the same sound, i dont know if they record in the same place or something but they all have a very distinct tone (with a few differences of course)

Pleasure to Kill - such a freakin oldschool sound
Agent Orange - Very similar to the sound I get out of my amp
Kerry's setup on 'Decade' - has an awesome tube roar, but at times actually a little TOO crunchy

Necrophagist: the new "Epitaph" album has the greatest tone/songwriting/and playing on it I have yet to hear.

Hmm..tone eh? I like a nice bold heavy tone. Any band I like usually means that I admire the tone.

WTF is that supposed to mean??
Thier earlier stuff sounded like ass cause they were just playing the same bullshit noise that everyone is. But they eventually evolved and created the masterpeice known as "Heartwork" and if you think that tone sucks... than god damn i feel sorry for you... yet after all im not surprised you think burzum has a good tone
