the reason he probably has so much confidence is that everyone thinks he some child prodigy. I wish I had started guitar at 13 but I didn't. That Ryan Perry kid might have repetative riffs but his solo is shitload better then that kids attempt at shredding.

That first kid,it was a nice try but he sucked.I mean,if he was 8,I guess you could cut him some slack but does age really matter? I think what matters more is how long and how much has he been playing and I believe that I could take him out and I'm 14 and I've been playng for 4 yrs.
The other kid that plays my life was pretty boring,but at least he doesn't make noise.

Now that I know he is a young teen, I would exspect more of him, but he was in front of a lot of peeps in the first vid so maybe he was nervous. I still get nervous just before I play for people, but I like that energized feeling too. He isn't bad, but the I don't think he deserves the attention he is getting.

i just hope that he doesn't start thinking that he's a "good" player, aside from him being so young. he's playing WAY too fast for his abilities, and will never get any better unless he turns the speed down and spends a lot of time practicing much slower. that kind of sloppiness shouldn't be so encouraged. it's great that he's playing guitar, but he won't go anywhere until he slows down a LOT and works at it more seriously.

i mean compare him to decapitated, when they started the guitar player was 14 or 15, i think and he was writing some of the best death metal riffs and some of the best leads

My kid is turning 8 in two weeks, I bought a starter epiphone and am going to get him lessons. We'll see how he turns out, his favorite two bands are Slayer and Death at the moment so we'll see. He's more interested in drums than guitar, but I think all kids are at that age.

Damn i havent seen the video because i have dial up and it would take like 1 hour and some odd minutes.If hes 14 yr old then that means hes older than me lol.

I went to see a band I had never heard of once, and they blew me away, these guys walked on stage looking like half of Limp Bizkit, and one of the guitarists warmed up with a sweeping run, and I felt like walking out of the building, going home and throwing my guitar in the bin. These guys were 17 when I saw them two years ago and they had been playing for 10 and 8 years then, and Nick (the one who's been playing the longest) is shit hot. they play metal which has kinda ended up as powermetal with harsh vocals, but originally they had influences such as Dissection, At The Gates, Immortal and everything in between. Check out www.phallicide.co.uk...although they don't shred for shred's sake, their solos are always part of the songs, not songs to support solos (yngwie!)

Maybe this kid will be good in a while, but he looked like a dick mashing all those notes with a guitar that practically drawfed him. And those idiots in the background who are 'worshipping him' need a kicking too.

I think its stupid that hes getting all this attention from MTV and stuff. Theres kids out there the same age thats better. This dude just looks younger (cuz hes like 4 ft tall) so every one thinks hes really young and good. And I think from the second video, he is worse. So what, he can tap and shred very sloppely. Hes not a bad guitarist. Hes just not that great.
